You-Name-It :: Photo was created to fill the need of Scanning Service Centers that are often required to check and rename batches of drawings from different sources. The equipment manufactures spend time and money with their scanning interfaces allowing you to fine tune the imaging equipment to get every document through at maximum speed.

Once the imaging equipment is set up select batch and you will be off and running. But. . . you have to keep stopping to enter the required file name, thus taking a toll on the productivity of your expensive imaging equipment.

Now what if you could keep your expensive imaging equipment running and just dump the images off to a network drive and allow a typist to review the images and rename the files, allowing for quality checks and named rescans if necessary.

Yes, an instant improvement of productivity.

You-Name-It :: Photo is a Full Trust, Strong Named, Digitally Signed, .NET Assembly that is delivered via Microsoft's Click Once technology allowing the end user to simply click on the "Install" button on the website and the application will be downloaded, installed and configured automatically. Each time the application is run a quick check is preformed to see if there are any updates and if so the application will download them, this is a real time saver as you can be assured that you are always running the latest version of the software.

Lite You-Name-It :: Photo uses the standard Microsoft Look-and-feel and will change configurations depending on when version of Windows the application is running on, so the end user should be comfortable with the normal functions right-out of the box.

You-Name-It :: Photo is network aware and is happy to rename images on network storage locations. The end user selects the original files to be processed and the application will “scan” the directory for image files that it can display. Once this list is complied the first one is displayed the end user enters the required file name into the text box provided and clicks on the hard-disk button to save the image with the new name. You-Name-It :: Photo will internally create a “originals” directory in the source image directory and a “processed” directory in the destination directory. Thus, if in a network based situation just pressing the key button will reread the files again and any new ones will be added to the list.

Lite You-Name-It :: Photo supports adding prefixes to your filenames and can even work in batch mode. Batch mode allows you to enter a prefix and have the images selected be renamed sequentially with the selected prefix added to the final name.

It is important to note that You-Name-It :: Photo does not modify you images and only opens them, in the case of multipage images only the first page is displayed. Just with any imaging application the overall speed of You-Name-It :: Photo can be adversely effected by processor speed, hard disk rotational speed and overall network speed. You-Name-It :: Photo can open most common camera formats.

You-Name-It :: Photo has F1 help built-in and if you get stuck you can even invoke a chat session from with in the application.
